I was born and raised in a small mountain town in Colorado. My childhood was filled with the outdoors, barefoot, picking wildflowers, riding bikes, roaming wild and free. Summers were for camping trips; toes dipped in the cold creek, dirt bike rides to the mountain tops, and naps in my dad’s hammock. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Those memories with my family are the foundation that built me. My mom had a heart filled with joy and positivity that poured out onto anyone she met. My dad was a very hard-working man with little to say. He didn’t show a lot of excitement but had a deep appreciation for the little things. They were good people who taught me to love Jesus, be kind, do the right thing even when it’s hard, and never take a moment for granted.

Even as a young girl, motherhood was what I dreamed of. I couldn’t think of anything better than to raise a family like the one I was blessed enough to be raised in. I met my amazing husband while he was stationed in Colorado. Together we have two precious children of our own, and my dreams have been far surpassed. The Army has sent us to four different duty stations within the US, and with each of them comes a new adventure. While home to me will always be the mountains of Colorado, we have been able to make some of my favorite memories at each place the Army has sent us.

I have always loved photography and the emotions you can feel just by looking at an image. Being a mother has made that love grow and has fed my passion for capturing the remarkable moments of motherhood.
I lost my mom to cancer prior to having children, and my dad nearly ten years later. Losing both my parents has shifted my outlook on the photographs I take. While I am still dedicated to capturing the little details, a freckle, a dimple, chubby toddler cheeks that don’t keep, holding your little one for the last time because before you know it they’ve grown too big to pick up again.

I have a perspective that I might not have seen if I hadn’t lost my parents. Now I fear that a moment or memory will pass, and I won’t remember it, or worse, my kids might not remember it. That feeling fuels me to capture each and every moment, big or small, a moment in time that you and your children can cherish for years to come. Memories fade, time does not keep, my aspiration is to capture images that do. One day all your children will have of you is pictures. Make sure you’re in them.
